Machine Party's player count changes minute by minute. The live chart below is the current Steam view. SteamDB recorded a 22,629-player all-time concurrent peak on August 4, 2026. That does not mean 22,629 people fit in one match: each official lobby still supports only 2–4 players.

The embedded chart is provided by SteamDB and updates independently of this article. Its current-player value can change while you are reading. If the frame is blocked by a privacy tool or network filter, open the source directly.
The chart is optional. Loading it connects your browser to SteamDB; the rest of this guide works without it.

The embedded values come from SteamDB, not Machine Party Wiki. We do not rewrite a changing number into the page as if it were permanent, and we do not estimate private sales, owners, or off-Steam activity from it.
02 / READ THE METRIC
WHAT THE NUMBERS
ACTUALLY MEAN.
People connected to Steam with Machine Party active at the same moment. Valve's documentation says offline Steam users are not included in its Web API count.
The highest simultaneous Steam count observed during the preceding 24 hours—not everyone who played at any time that day.
The largest simultaneous Steam audience recorded so far. SteamDB lists 22,629 on August 4, 2026 in the snapshot checked for this page.
Concurrent charts do not disclose total owners, copies sold, unique daily users, refunds, or how many private groups are open.
A concurrent count is best used as an activity signal. It cannot prove that a specific region, language, skill level, or preferred mode has an open group at the moment you want to play.
03 / TWO DIFFERENT COUNTS
GLOBAL ACTIVITY
IS NOT LOBBY SIZE.
| Steam concurrent players | Everyone Steam reports as active in Machine Party at the same moment. |
|---|---|
| Official lobby size | 2–4 players The maximum number of people in one official online or local session. |
| Public matchmaking | Not available A large global count does not create a built-in public lobby list. |
| LFG Discord | Developer provided The official route for assembling a private group. |
| Community browser | Unofficial mod MachineParty+ exposes tagged public lobbies but keeps its four-player cap. |
| Experimental 8P mod | Unofficial mod A separate v1.5 patch supports five-to-eight-player online groups on game v2.1.2; see the test and compatibility limits. |
04 / BEFORE YOU BUY
CAN THE CHART TELL YOU
IF YOU SHOULD BUY?
Not by itself. Machine Party is built around a small private group, and the base game does not include native public matchmaking. A healthy global concurrent count can still leave you without an immediate group; a lower count does not stop a ready group of friends from playing.
- If you already have two to four players,
prioritize platform support, system requirements, price, and whether your group wants online or couch co-op. - If you are buying alone,
check the developer-provided LFG Discord before purchase. The game does not currently advertise bots or a solo campaign. - If you need a native public browser,
the base game does not provide one. MachineParty+ is an unofficial option with separate installation and safety considerations. - If today's number looks unusual,
compare the live value with the 24-hour pattern rather than treating one moment as a permanent trend.
05 / FAST ANSWERS
PLAYER COUNT
QUESTIONS.
How many people are playing Machine Party right now?
Use the live SteamDB chart above. The count changes continuously and measures simultaneous Steam players, not total owners.
What is the Machine Party all-time peak?
SteamDB recorded 22,629 concurrent Steam players on August 4, 2026. That historical value was checked on August 18.
Does Steam player count include offline players?
Valve's Steamworks Web API documentation says its current-player endpoint does not return players who are playing while not connected to Steam.
Does the chart show how many copies were sold?
No. Concurrent players, total owners, units sold, unique daily users, and wishlists are different metrics. This page does not convert one into another.
How many players can join one Machine Party game?
Two to four players can join one official online or local session. See the multiplayer guide for setup and controller details.
Can I find random players from the live chart?
No. The chart shows global activity but does not expose joinable rooms. Use the developer-provided LFG Discord or evaluate the unofficial MachineParty+ server browser.
