Official listing + Steam app metadata
Quick answer

Yes, Machine Party is multiplayer. The official Steam page confirms support for 2–4 players and online co-op. It does not currently list local co-op, shared/split-screen, or Remote Play Together, so buy it for online group play—not on the assumption that four people can share one PC.

Local-play warning

The word “party” describes the game format, not necessarily couch multiplayer. Until the official page adds a local/shared-screen feature, treat Machine Party as an online game.

02 / SESSION CHECKLIST

SET UP A GROUP

  1. Confirm two to four available players.
Four is the currently advertised maximum; the game is not listed for five or more.
  2. Have each player check the PC requirements.
Vulkan support is specifically required on both the Windows and Linux minimum listings.
  3. Agree on voice chat before launching.
Built-in voice chat is not documented on the official store page we reviewed, so use your normal group channel if needed.
  4. Use the host/invite flow shown in the current build.
This guide avoids freezing unverified menu labels into instructions while the game is receiving launch-period updates.
  5. Test inputs before the first serious round.
Machine Party changes control schemes across challenges, so controller and keyboard players should both watch the on-screen prompt.

03 / INPUT

CONTROLLERS & STEAM DECK

Steam's app metadata currently reports full controller support. It also marks Machine Party as Steam Deck Verified: the default controller configuration is functional, controller icons are shown, text is legible, and default graphics settings perform well.

There is one Steam Deck/SteamOS caveat: external Bluetooth or USB controllers may not become active automatically. Steam's compatibility notes say you may need to switch the active controller manually through the Quick Access Menu.

This does not change the local-play warning. Controller compatibility tells you which input devices work; it does not by itself confirm that multiple players can share one device.
